Bought my first SLR camera today,a Nikon D3100(Amazon affiliate link),which from what I’ve read is a very strong full-featured camera, for the nice price of $599 for body and single lens.

I bought mine at Best Buy down the street, where I love the service, and added the two-year protection plan, since I have a habit of dropping things. Sure enough, before my second shot,I’d dropped it lens first onto the concrete.
Other than a few scuffs, though, the only real damage seems to have been a destroyed UV filter –and I’d bought that to protect the lens more than anything else. I went out with the boys and took a few types of shots, from macros of tree buds and toadstools to a few action shots.
So far so good. Keep up with my Flickr stream here.

Awesome,Congrats on the new camera. Careful next time and you know what…I would (if I were you..) go back and return the warranty and get your warranty from squaretrade.
I use that now. Its awesome and much better than best buy IMO. But anyway, congrats on the new digicam and looking forward to your new flickr shots.
